Thomas Roszak, AIA
Thomas Roszak has been involved in architectural design and construction for over 29 years. His work includes a wide range of building types, including commercial and institutional projects, with a special concentration on urban residential architecture, for which he personally has overseen the design, development and construction of more than 2,000 units with a market value in excess of $2 billion. Mr. Roszak opened his first architecture, development and construction office in 1997. Soon after, he established Thomas Roszak Architecture, a firm dedicated to creative, innovative and environmentally effective design. His keen insight coupled with a unique design process allows him and his team to challenge preconceptions, resulting in innovative and technically advanced design solutions. Mr. Roszak also founded and currently leads the construction management company SteelGrass, an eco-design-build firm focused on new technology and sustainability.
Architectural Digest named Mr. Roszak one of its “World’s Top 20 Architects” in 2005. He was featured in Philip Jodidio's ARCHITECTURE NOW!, no. 4, published by Tashen in 2006. In2008, he received the American Institute of Architects’ prestigious National Honor Award. Recently, Thomas Roszak Architecture was chosen by Modern Luxury Interiors to be the “Best Architecture Firm in 2017.”
Mike is a Project Architect with experience in residential design, hospitality design, and construction management. His education includes a Bachelor of Architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology during which he received several merit based awards, including the Sherwin Small Scholarship. He also received a Master Degree in Integrated Building Delivery from the Illinois Institute of Technology. Mike's professional experience includes single and multi-family residential projects, commercial tenant build outs, classroom repurposing, and hospitality renovations. Mike was instrumental in the success in both the JeffJack and Linea projects. Mike plays a vital role in analyzing future development for TRA and its affiliated companies. This work includes schematic design, budgeting and creating proformas to test the development's potential.
Paul is an Associate Architect with experience in residential design and construction management. His education includes a Bachelor of Architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology during which he was one of the recipient of the Roche Travelling Studio scholarship. He also received a Master of Integrated Building Delivery from IIT. Paul's professional experience started at a structural engineering firm. He worked at world renowned Thornton Tomasetti where he worked closely with engineers and helped coordinate structural and architectural designs. Paul was instrumental in the success in both the JeffJack and Linea projects.
Hugo has over 12 years of architectural and construction experience working in the City of Chicago. He has managed the design and construction phases of several real estate development projects. This includes high-rise residential towers such as 3Eleven luxury apartments and Milieu at 205 S. Peoria. He earned his Bachelor of Architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology. He was awarded the Construction Document Technologist Certificate by the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI). Those who pass the CDT exam are recognized within the industry for their comprehensive knowledge of the writing and management of construction documents. Hugo is now the project architect for the 145 S. Wells office tower, which is the first office project to be designed and built by TRA.
Tyler is an Associate Architect and Construction Manager who joined TRA in 2016. His education includes a Bachelors of Architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology. Growing up in the construction industry, Tyler has a large range of experience in design and construction. Professionally, he dives into a multitude of different responsibilities between TRA and its affiliated companies. Most recently, Tyler has played a key role in the coordination and design efforts made for 145 South Wells, a 20 Story office tower that began construction in May 2018.
Jill is an Interior Architect with experience in corporate commercial and high end multi-family residential projects. Her education includes a Bachelor in Science in interior Design with a minor in Architecture and an emphasis in Sustainable Design from the University of Minnesota; during which she was on the Dean's List for high honors and received the Student Design and Scholarship Excellence award. Jill sees interior design as an art form that can be physically experienced, creating memorable and meaningful impacts on people’s lives. Her people-centered approach to design means she sees the space through the eyes of its end-user, focusing on how a person would functionally use and experience it.
Kasia’s education includes a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Northeastern Illinois University from where she graduated with High Honors. She is a Licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the State of Illinois and Enrolled Agent (EA) enrolled to practice before IRS. She has been a long-time asset to the Roszak team using her extensive bookkeeping, managerial, HR, and administrative experience to full potential. She has served as a project accountant on multiple projects. All these projects have presented the opportunity to work closely with other wonderful Roszak team members, as well as with outside partners such as our legal counsel, lenders, escrow administrators, insurance team, tax accountants, and multiple vendors. She has always been very enthusiastic and professional in developing and maintaining these most valuable relationships. Kasia has been instrumental in the success in recent projects including JeffJack and Linea.
